Several Bollywood celebs over last week have condemned the cruel act of a Mumbai resident, Bhatia and a security guard towards a stray dog.  Just to give you a quick lowdown, the security guard on the orders of Bhatia beat up Lucky the dog  for taking shelter in their society as it was raining heavily. The beating was to such an extent that it left him in severe pain and on the verge of dying in the building compound. A video of this went viral and like commoners, Bollywood celebs too asked for a punishment for the wrong –doers and donation for the treatment of the poor animal named Lucky.

Unfortunately, Lucky is no more. The stray dog breathed his last today morning. Actress Anushka who is also an avid animal lover informed about this heartbreaking incident on her Instagram story. Her Instagram story read, “Official Statement! Lucky crashed this morning at 9.20am. The vets did try to revive him but he crashed again at 10.50am and couldn’t be revived back. Lucky has passed on. Her post further read, “With a broken heart, I type this. Lucky, has passed on. He fought with all his might and despite best medical assistance he could not recover from the inhumane suffering he was put through… This voiceless creature United us in our compassion & humanity. May your soul rest in peace and may you find a better world…”

When the video of Lucky brutally being beaten up went viral, the actress had tweeted, “The inhumanity of this act is just unbelievable. This is the time for our community to step up and find a way to help get justice to a soul that can’t stand up for himself. If there is any way one can reach out to help, this is the time. 🙏”.

An FIR was lodged against Bhatia and security guard by Bombay Animal Rights under IPC Sections 429 and 34, but released on bail within no time.
